Cyclone Yasi: Preparations Hundreds of lives saved

A combination of luck and good planning've Been Credited with saving the lives of Thousands of people in the path of Tropical Cyclone Yasi s, which slammed Into the Queensland coast early on Thursday morning whipping up winds of 180mph and waves of up to 30ft.

"But due to good planning and a good response by disaster management groups and locals Councils We Have Been Able to keep everyone safe."
